Melanie Layton is a Technical Director at GHD and the Team Lead of the Stakeholder Engagement, Communication and Research Services Team in Queensland.
For more than 20 years, Melanie has been working with communities to help them understand infrastructure and how major projects and communities work collaboratively.
She has an excellent understanding of infrastructure and environmental projects and a thorough knowledge of government processes.
With a background in communications, stakeholder engagement, media and public relations, Melanie has been responsible for managing communication and stakeholder engagement for some of the largest and complex infrastructure projects in regional and metropolitan areas throughout Australia.
Melanie has led community engagement programs on behalf of Queensland Rail, Moreton Bay Regional Council, Department of Education, Probuild, NSW Roads and Maritime Services, ARTC, Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation, Sunshine Coast Council, UrbanGrowth NSW, Department of Defence, Airservices Australia, and the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
An experienced facilitator and issues strategist, Melanie has worked extensively with multi-disciplinary teams on all stages of large infrastructure-related projects from feasibility studies, project planning impact assessments, tender evaluation project delivery and project design, through to pre-construction and construction.
