A global leader in the engagement space, Kylie Cochrane is an owner, the managing principal and the global lead of Communication and Stakeholder Engagement for engineering and infrastructure advisory firm Aurecon. Kylie is also the International Chair of the of the International Association of Public Participation - the professional association for the consultation and engagement industry. She is on both the Australasian and the International IAP2 Boards.
Kylie is a senior communication professional with almost 30 years’ experience in community and stakeholder engagement, strategic communication and community outrage. She brings direct proven understanding and extensive first-hand experience of working on infrastructure projects with community outrage including the WestConnex M4-M5 Link, Northern Sydney Freight Corridor and Sydney’s Desalination Project.
Kylie has developed a confident and successful approach to working with communities and stakeholders. This involves setting up a clear and trusted framework, building relationships, enabling transparent information exchange and a culture of mutual respect. Kylie also understands the unique pressures and priorities of government and has worked as a communication/engagement manager under three Premiers, several government ministers and for many government agencies.
Kylie is the founder of Women in Transport – a professional networking body for women in the infrastructure industry and the men who support them.
She was recently awarded the 2018 Consult Australia Female Champion of Change. Her team won five awards at the 2018 IAP2 Core Values awards and her team won the 2018 NAWIC Team Innovation Award for the Wynyard Station Upgrade.
