Anita has worked in the construction industry in the field of communications and engagement since 2006.Over this time she has worked in both the private and public sector and has been an advocate for community and stakeholder engagement in relation to both the early planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects.
In 2009, Anita worked for Leighton Contractors on the Kempsey Bypass project and was integral in implementing a range of engagement tools that focussed on educating community members about the impacts of construction whilst also working closely with the project team to mitigate adverse impacts. Following this Anita joined AECOM as a senior consultant on Brisbane’s Darra to Springfield Rail project where she developed engagement strategies that built community awareness around construction and operation of this heavy rail line which was connecting these two suburbs by rail for the first time.
In 2012, Anita joined Sydney Metro fulfilling a range of roles which culminated in her becoming the Communications Director for Sydney Metro City & Southwest, and currently Sydney Metro West. In her current role she sits on the project’s Executive Leadership Team and provides support across the project and broader business to ensure the importance of stakeholder and community engagement is advocated for, from project inception through to delivery.
In 2019, Anita was selected as a Roads Australia Fellow. She holds a Bachelor of Business Communication from the University of Queensland and a Diploma of Intercultural Communication from the University of Helsinki.
